Joash vs. 99 water balloons

This is my old rommate Joash getting hammered with water balloons at his surprise birthday party.  I missed it because I was in California, but you can see why he's so rad.  Who can get pelted with that many water-balloons and still keep a smile on his face?

So I'm finally back from my vacation, and I'm sad to say that I'm finally back from my vacation. At least I am comforted by the fact that a day after I returned Vancouver weather turned cloudy, rainy, and cold. Just what you'd expect in the middle of July.

It's actually kind of funny. I planned a vacation to California for, among other reasons, to make sure that I got a solid amount of time in the sun this summer. I bought tickets in mid-june, and by late-july when I left, it had been warm and sunny here nearly every day for a month.

Minor Clarification

Well I'm back. Pictures still in the works, lots more babies!

Pismo

This week is vacation week in California. I'll post some pics when I get back, trust me, there are tons.

In the meantime I'll happily tell you that one of my major vacation objectives – to see and swim in the Pacific Ocean, was achieved today.

You may think, "what's the big deal with swimming in the ocean, you live 13 blocks from the beach man…" And I understand why you might think that, but if you do it's because you don't realize that even though Vancouver has plenty of frisky beaches and saltwater swimming, none of these involve any contact with the actual "ocean."

Oh Man, here we go again.

I just think it's funny that xe.com puts up a little notifier whenever the Canadian dollar overvalues the U.S. dollar and says it's a "rate explanation". I'm pretty sure it's a "rub it in your face" explanation. Jerks. They should have one on the euro. It would say,

Rate Explanation

This rate means that the Euro is worth twice as much as your dollar, 2 and a half times as much as the Canadian dollar, 3 times as much as the Australian dollar, and Hey We in Europe rock!
