dog
Dogs are strange.
Specifically, the one I'm currently dogsitting. It's a 5-month old female German Shepherd puppy. I'm never quite sure what's going on in her head, but I imagine it's something like this. Here's a typical day…
On waking up (she sleeps in a crate)...
What!? Where am I? What's going on? Oh. I'm in this box again. I like this box… Here's some food. I have to use the washroom (canadian dog)... What should I do? I know, I'll scream uncontrollably
This is when I wake up. I go and open her crate and attempt to get her outside.
Getting Things Done
Getting Things Done.
The other day I was helping Wendy move a couple of couches, and we got to chatting about some other projects she needed help with. The conversation eventually came to a point where she kind of blurted out, "Dan Ray, I feel like when you're around things get done."
I was confused. Mainly I was confused because I'm not really very good at getting things done. I'm a classic starter-mover, meaning that I get excited about something and then eventually get bored with it and move on to something else. So why did she say that?
Where all the Women are Strong…
from friday morning
It’s 5:46am and I am wide awake. Oh yeah. Forgot that one of the “funner” aspects of holiday is that I really don’t sleep very much the first night that I’m away. In fact, it took almost an hour’s worth of Garrison Kiellor’s News From Lake Wobegon last night for me to finally get to sleep – well after 1:00am. Then the morning comes and a soon as there’s enough light for me to realize that I’m not home, I’m more awake than I would be at any single point during a typical working day.
I’m Out…

Well I'm out for the next few days, off to the island to visit my friends Jonathan and Jen LeDuc and then the three of us plus their two kids come back to Vancouver on Saturday. Really excited, hopefully this also involves some contemplation and rest. No blogs till Monday.
Blessings.
Thanks Ry, for the pic.
