Art Rage
I heard about this little program on a podcast that I listen to; ironically it's a podcast about all things mac.
But it sounded pretty cool, and they have a windows version, so I thought I'd check it out. It's called Art Rage and the tag line for it is, "Ever wanted to play with paint?" I figured, heck yeah I wanted to play with paint!
Response to Steph’s Comment (2)
In this comment Steph (Rowan) made some great points. I was going to comment back at her but I just made it a post instead.
Steph,
Love that you brought up Veggie Tales. I think that really speaks to the issue (at least to the issue of motivation). It's a real subtle distinction to make, but it seems like there's something about this that's different than VT. One thing is that VT stands on its own as an art form, and a really good one that kids love and adults can enjoy too. I think that's a big part of the discussion – substantive art vs. art created for commerical profit – but too big for today.
This Ought to Turn out Well (1)
On the Tumblog both today and last week are photos which more or less reference this story, about the fact that Wal-Mart is going to be selling "Biblical Action Figures."

The most significant of these, in my opinion, is the Talking Jesus Action Figure, that will narrate "his" own life story and help your childrens learn important key bible verses…
...Because, if you're too busy to teach them yourself, an 8-inch tall piece of plastic will make an excellent substitute.
Stuck for the Hungry
In you haven't gathered, I don't really like Mondays very much. I have a category on this blog called I hate Mondays
The truth is that I learned to hate Mondays from Garfield when I was a kid. I think it's funny, but I don't really hate them that much.
Today could be a pretty rough one though, as I'm participating in the 40 Day Fast put together by Kat at the Secret life of Kat blog.
Today is my day, which means that I'm not going to be eating any food at all today.
Which in terms of Mondays, rates pretty poorly.
