Happy Birthday Me

hooray.

Like lot of people. I'm not the biggest fan of my birthday. I'm sure that i've mentioned this before on the blog, probably every year its been in existence. The preparing, planning and execution of having one's own birthday can be a frustrating thing. After an awkward party last year, I decided one thing for sure. From now on I would be the one organizing my own birthday party. This because hoping (maybe for a surprise party) or letting someone else plan it can be a tricky thing. I realized that I admired people who kind of threw their own parties for themselves seemed to enjoy them the most, as they had control over the events and the attendees. At this point in life, I guess I'm now in the "Abyss of the early 30s", not all of one's friends are necessarily of the same social group. If you invite everyone to the same shindig it can be awkward and put you in the role of social facilitator, not something your average dan wants to do on his birthday.

Test Post From Firefox

If this works, that means that this little utility I found called "deepest sender" (a firefox extension) actually worked out pretty well to create a basic post.

So far I've logged in ok, and the little sidebar on my browser seems to be aware of my blogging categories.  That's a good sign.

I guess my "deepest concern" about "deepest sender" is that since i've given this little program the password to my blog it could secretly send the password out to its evil overlords and they could hack into my blog and post all kinds of crazy things.

But since that's basically what I do anyway I'm not too worried.

Keats

One of the nice things about Vancouver is that you can drive 20 minutes to the ferry wharf and jump on a boat that will take you to one of many islands for the weekend.

This weekend I'm heading to Keats Island with a bunch of guys from my church. It will be a nice get away from the world and beautiful, sunny, and not to cold with lots of good food.

Don't expect any blogs though. – dan

the internets are broken

I'm really sad. Sometime today my domain, draynet.com went offline due to some issues with the host. I feel like the internet is incomplete without draynet, plus I can't get my email. This is a sad time.

I'm watching the American Idol eliminations on the idol boards, and it looks like Sabrina and Sundance got voted off so far. Not my picks, but I'm not surprised. I picked sundance to go early in the next rounds, and Sabrina goes in accordance with my Diva theory. But I wanted her to stay cause she's great.

Oh well.

American Idol II

After Watching the Girls last night, I really didn't feel like there was much point to posting about them like I did with the guys. Everything about the night seemed really obvious. But then my domain went down, and I started panicking (this is obviously assuming that somehow this blog is actually back UP and I'm not panicky anymore).
