A New Kind of Worship

Here is a church that has foregone traditional worship hymns for U2 covers.

I'm sure most people will have an issue with this, but I know some good friends who could probably worship to U2 just as well as any other worship music. – dan

Our Big Mistake?

As Christians:

Our Biggest Mistake is that we've put the nuclear family ahead of the body of Christ (in terms of importance).

This is a quote of my rommate Michael in a 2 hour long conversation/rant/debate that we had recently alongside our other roommate Joash.

It's kind of a serious idea and I don't mean to offend anybody off the back. And if you're one of the many commenters who has a nuclear family and they are clearly the most important thing to you, please don't think I'm saying that it shouldn't be that way. In fact, I'm not convinced that it shouldn't, but when Michael put it this way it kind of caught me by surprise.

Wow

This Video of a master flautist is worth watching twice

Being Not Hosed

If you follow sports you'll already know that the lead story this week, the only story really this week (with the exception of Beyonce appearing on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition) is focused on the recent coming out and book by former NBA center John Amaechi, who is the first NBA player to reveal that he is Gay.

The story became lightning rod electric when former NBA guard Tim Hardaway, on the Dan Levatard show in Miami, responded to an off the cuff question about the situation by saying that he hates gay people.

Amazing

Well This is Exciting.

I was working on a blog about Barack Obama and I wanted to get a perspective on some of his "problem" views, so I went over to this conservative website that had an article listing them titled the Audacity of Hype. I'll let you look at them if you like and hopefully talk about them later.

While I was there I got distracted by the banner ad on the page for the movie "Amazing Grace." It had pictures of people in renaissance style clothing and sported a tagline that said, "Behind a Song you love is a Story you will Never Forget." My initial reaction was, "hmmm, that's cheesy."
