Sometimes Words escape me…
Sometimes you hear the phrase, "so and so is such a beatutiful person…" uttered by someone who is trying to describe another's personality attributes as opposed to their physical attributes. You know what I mean? Like for instance, Jill will say of Harry, "oh, Harry is SUCH a beautiful person, simply beautiful." She's not referring to Harry's physical presence, but rather the fact that he has lovely personal qualities.
Frankly, I've never been a big fan of this sort of designation. I find the language confusing because the adjective isn't being used in the way I generally perceive it.
Scripture
It occurs to me that I love the scriptures. I love them, I am just not very good at studying them. For a while, I’ve wondered if my lack of desire to study signifies that I really don’t love the scriptures all that much. Tonight I was reminded that is not the case. My lack of passion for study of scripture certainly is a reflection of laziness and lack of discipline, but it is certainly not reflective of any lack of love for the scriptures.
Review : Elizabethtown
This Valentine’s day roommate and I made a sweet dinner for the girls upstairs, drank a bit of wine, and capped the evening off with a viewing of “Elizabethtown.”
Microsoft is trying too Hard
(you should read this, it will be more interesting than you think)
Microsoft is coming out with a new operating system soon (In Windows-speak soon may be 2 months or 2 years, nobody knows) called vista. I was wondering what a new desktop system could possibly offer me over Windows XP (which I happen to like a lot, for the most part), so I went to their website. Here’s what I found under the “user experience” section:
Windows Vista introduces a breakthrough user experience and is designed to help you feel confident in your ability to view, find, and organize information and to control your computing experience.
The Armor of God
At Bible study tonight we contemplated the intricacies of the “Armor of God” passage in Ephesians 6:10-18.
First major discussion point over how we “put on the armor of God.” What exactly does that mean?
