Comments
It occured to me after about 5 years of doing this that this wasn't really ever going to be a very heavily commented upon blog. So in accordance with good blog etiquette, I turned the comments off for all posts.
Then of course a number of people were like, "hey! where are the comments?!?"
And I was like, "I turned them off!"
And they were like, "what the heck?!?"
So they kept asking questions with that question-mark, exclamation-mark, question-mark tone, which always get me to concede something.
So I said, hey sure, I'll turn the comments back on. It's not really that big of a deal ya'know.
But then I started posting all these little "informational" posts. You know posts with links to music or news or videos or whatever. And I figured, why would those have comments? Usually the only option is, "I like it!" which is basically what I'm assuming anyway since I'm the one recommending it. Or maybe the response would be, "interesting." Which isn't really a comment it's just a text message (thanks birgibs).
So now I leave comments on for substantial posts that have to do with my life or things I really care about, and for informational posts and diversions, comments are off.
And if you've read this far, you are awesome.
