Lo Mejor
June 20th 2006 may have been one of the best days in my life.
I know that’s extreme, but some days just rule.
The day started out a bit sleep deprived, but in anticipation of a job interview in the early morning.
I wore my favorite sports coat for good luck.
Before the interview, I parked at the church and played piano for a while, which resulted in my bumping into my pastor Geoff. Geoff encouraged me on the sermon I preached at church last Sunday, as well as voluntarily prayed for my Job interview.
Hanging out with Geoff is really fun.
Then I went off to the interview. It went really well. I had everyone laughing by the time it was over.
Following the interview, I ditched the Coat for a comfy collared tee, and proceeded to pick Jane and Dane up at the airport.
I love hanging with J & D, but especially when they buy me tasty Mexican food from Bugees for lunch. Today I had the best burrito I’ve had since I moved to Vancouver.
I left the Splinter Haltons quickly, just in case they wanted some time alone after their journey, but I was sure glad to have them back in town. I'm looking forward to making them my newest vegetarian dinner creation soon.
Upon arriving home, I got a call from the interviewees, who told me that I landed a great and well-paying job for the rest of the summer. Score.
After a bit of paperwork and some phone calls, the Job thing all lined up, I got online…
…and had the pleasure of chatting with three of my favorite people: Mike, Dillon, and Carol. Carol gave me news about an upcoming Hey Ocean concert on Friday, and my chats with Mike and Dill were blissful. I love those guys.
After quick and promising goodbyes, I started listening to the Heat – Mavs Game. Game 6 of the finals, and the final game if the Heat could pull out a win.
The game was amazing, I was on the edge of my seat the whole way.
In the end the Heat did the job and Dwayne Wade (see last post) was awarded finals MVP.
I was so happy I almost cried. What he’s done, what he’s become, is simply amazing. The NBA is back to the good old days no matter what the haters say, and it feels like Jr. High all over.
To top it all off, Fred W. Called and we got to chat about the game for a couple of seconds. I told him that it made my day. But it’s not like the day needed much making.
In addition to all that, I just hung up some laundry, and apparently I was successful in removing a stain from my favorite dress shirt.
All that’s left is tasty burrito left overs and bed, and then work tomorrow.
I suspect that my first day of work will involve me being in a really really good mood. – dan.

hm… what would have made it even better would have been for you to come to my goodbye party.
