Blogtime

After school today I went to the corner store to buy a small container of sour cream for some perogies (small fried potato thingies). Since there are no cows in Canada, the sour cream cost like $9 or something.

The guy at the cashier says to me, “man, sure are a lot of people buying sour cream today!”

I tell him that for me to buy it causes me great pain, because I’m American, and we have lots of cows so sour cream is cheap.

He asks me how long I’m going to be here.

“A few more years, I’m a student.”

He smiles and I pay and leave.

But as I walk out I feel a strange sense of satisfaction. How odd. I was so happy to utter that little phrase. Gosh I really love it here. I suppose I’ve been speculating on why as well. More on that later. – dan.
