10 Things I dug about Yesterday.

lebron is a magic power bar

  1. The bus driver letting me ride in the a.m for free so I didn't have to bike all the way to work in the rain.
  2. This week's This American Life. Wow. Good. Never fails. Now I know everything. C'mon. drinks with TARA REID!!! Are you kidding me? That's just crazy.
  3. A cool conversation with my pastor. He's a pretty cool guy.
  4. Some indirect advice from a friend about tying my pants leg up with a string. Turns out that works pretty well. Although now due to laziness I'm walking around most of the day with a string tied around my right pants-leg cuff.
  5. Encouraged by Brody's blog to maybe try and write something positive once a week. This will be hard though, as writing rants and cynical posts is so much more fun.
  6. The IT guy at my work, Tom, who is a far better IT guy than I could ever hope to be, gave me a magic power bar that makes all my computer monitors and desk lights turn off whenever I put my computer to sleep. Then when I wake it up the lights come back on. Basically everyone at my work wants to be me now.
  7. The cheap used bike I bought (for much cheaper than that) totally owned in the rain. I even had to come to a screeching halt because somebody pulled out in front of me and then stopped in the middle of the road, and the brakes were true and I didn't skid/slide. Awesome.
  8. Big A invited me to watch some firefly with him and a friend from regent. Unbeknownst to me, she made us dinner. And Big A made a salad. Free dinner! Free salad! Free muffin!
  9. Later we sat around and talked about many different related things; one of my favourite things to do; but I don't do it as often as I used to. I enjoyed.
  10. Someone invited me to come and lead worship for and event they're doing. I'm not 100% sure who it was that asked me (due to a technicality) but it's always fun being asked to do stuff you like doing.

Man. I'm just not sure about this being positive thing.

Being positive is good for you, Dan. Nice to have you on board.

I just got the chance to listen to TAL this morning. As soon as it was done, I was like, ‘Again! Must listen to that again!” I was impressed by my huge increase in knowledge with the credit crisis due entirely to TAL (and well, a little to Time).

Btw—I was hitting the BSG pretty hard. I’m better now, but it’s been short-listed as one of my favourite shows…EVER.

Oh, and I miss fun-city.
