Sometimes you hear the phrase, "so and so is such a beatutiful person…" uttered by someone who is trying to describe another's personality attributes as opposed to their physical attributes. You know what I mean? Like for instance, Jill will say of Harry, "oh, Harry is SUCH a beautiful person, simply beautiful." She's not referring to Harry's physical presence, but rather the fact that he has lovely personal qualities.
Frankly, I've never been a big fan of this sort of designation. I find the language confusing because the adjective isn't being used in the way I generally perceive it.
Well, that's usually how I feel; maybe I've come to a deeper understanding of all things people.
Today I've reflected on a few people I know up here, and as I evaluate their qualities, all I can say is that they are simply beautiful people.
But I want to clarify what I mean by beautiful. By beautiful, I mean that each of them reflects with perfect clarity the Spirit of Christ. Their lives eminate Jesus. As I explore the nuances of each one of them, I see more and more of Christ.
And that is utterly beautiful.
As I look back on my life, they are not the only ones who are beautiful. My whole history has been experiencing relationship with people who cleraly display the Love of our beautiful saviour.
I could name so many, but tonight, how about just these three.
First Kyle and Sarah. www.wilhelmsweb.com, you can meet them if you like. Kyle phoned me tonight and I was greatly blessed to hear his poor spanish as he recounted the journey he and his wife are making around the world, currently in Peru.
The other is my mom. She's a beautiful person. A loving mother, a prayer warrior on my behalf, a phenomenal provider, a sacrificing self-giver, and my own personal hero.
It's good to live in a world where people are beautiful. – dan.
Dan, I will never tire of your encouraging words. We love you and miss you terribly but are comforted by the face that there are still a few million people in the world who have not had the pleasure of meeting you. Saddly their lives will be lacking until that day comes. Keep on loving Dan. You do it so well. See ya some day. K-
