Chicken

In a genius move I followed the advice of my good friend Kathy and went over to Safeway to pick up one of the 4kg boxes of frozen, boneless, skinless chicken on sale. 4kg is about 9 pounds, so you end up getting chicken for about $3 a pound, which is a bit better than the $9 a pound it usually costs.

Of course I was on my bike, which I didn't really think about when I bought the giant box of chicken and a few other essentials, resulting in two full safeway eco-friendly bags full of groceries weighing at least about 10 pounds a bag.

That made for a funny and slightly painful ride home. For some reason when you're holding 20 lbs. of grocery on the left side of the bike, the bike wants really badly to turn right. I almost crashed about 6 times which made me wonder if all the bad mojo I'm getting from people about not wearing a helmet is something I should take more seriously.

I made it home. Popped open the box to see enough chicken to last for weeks, all of which went into 1 quart reusable freezer bags immediately. By the time I was finished my hands were numb. More pain. I didn't think buying chicken would be so painful.

Anyway, now I have a lot of chicken. Anybody want me to make them dinner?

In other news, the arranged marriage is going great. More details on that later.

I want you to make us dinner…or at least come over to our place for dinner. :) How does whenever sound? Seriously we’ve got almost nothing for the next 2 weeks so maybe you should come over some time. Are you still doing stuff on Thursday nights? I was going to say we could enjoy one evening of the Office together.

I’ll come over in about 14 1/2 hours, the amount of time it take me to drive there. Hope you make me something good.
