Perceptions of Heaven…

So as you may have realized by my brain vomit yesterday, I tried to buy a guitar on ebay and it didn't go very well. By didn't go very well, I mean, I spent about 3 hours feeling like crap because I was contemplating bidding way over what I wanted to spend, and when I finally did decide to go ahead and do it I got the crud bid out of me by another $200. So the guitar sold for $200 over about $200 over what was my max. At least I know that I'm looking for the right guitar.

Anyway, I'm over it. But it might be awhile before another one comes along that fits the bill.

We spent some time in my systematic theology course talking about perceptions of heaven. You may be surprised to know that Regent holds (as one of its very few adamantly expressed systematic views) a pretty unorthodox view of heaven. I won't tell you what it is now, that'd spoil the fun.

I like thinking about heaven though, I think we have a lot to look forward to, including an absense of annoying ebay bidders stealing my guitar.

So what do you think about heaven?

i think about heaven sometimes…..........and i realize that it is an absolute that we are going to be there.

then i think for hours that i am a.c.t.u.a.l.l.y going, that it is more real and more tangible than the present, that i will one day d.e.f.i.n.i.t.e.l.y be there and i will most assuredly spend eternity there.

then my brain explodes and i have to think about simpler things. like star trek and how dreamy jean luc picard is.

sigh

Are those acronyms?

Heaven….the earth the way it was intended to be, us the way we were intended to be. Not only that but our relationships with God, other people, the earth and alll it’s inhabitants they were intended to be. Perfection.

I found your blog via a link from Beth’s. Quite enjoyable.
