All the little "Test Posts" that have been popping up yesterday and today are a confabulation of me testing out a few different met methods of posting; Some more successful than others. The purpose of this is basically to put myself in a position where I can post in as many situations as possible. I figure the more likely it is that I 'm able to post in a given situation, the more likely I will post when something crosses my mind.

That's not just physical either, in a software sense, When I'm working on a paper or formatting some publishing material or reading the news, it can seem a virtual far distance to go to my webpage, click into the login screen, and begin writing something down. It's funny because I think if I didn't live in a digital age I would have thousands of little scraps of paper lying around.

Now that I mention it I remember that before the digital age I did write a multitude of notes everywhere. I occasionally bump into them when going through my stuff and wonder what the heck I keep them for. Not to mention how many of them I probably lost. Regardless I'm keen to find the easiest way to post in Word and on the iPhone.

I came up with a few options, the best of which are the WPhone Mobile Plug-in for WordPress and the new Blog Posting Feature in MS Word 2007. A method that didn't fair very well was email posting, which in theory seems like the best way to go, but I can't get the darn thing to work. Up to this point my current process has been, write a post in notepad with textile formatting marked up and then paste the post into the blog interface. Some of these other methods are a little more streamlined. If you're a regular blogger I strongly suggest trying out the Word 2007 interface. It's not great for pictures but it is pretty slick with almost no overhead (if you don't know what that means then don't worry about it). And the people who made the WPhone interface are really on the ball. That's the best there is for mobile blogging until the iphone SDK. Not that writing blogs on any mobile device is really that great, but it works in a pinch (I wrote that last paragraph on the bus).

    Spiritual?

I preached 3 weeks on the last 4. That's almost a record for me. On the whole it didn't go great, but I'm not hugely concerned because I think that it's just a matter of getting into a rhythm now and finding a few close people who can give me solid feedback. I'm not really of giving myself solid feedback yet but in every case I was overly critical until I talked to people I trust. Anyway it's a long story I don't want to get into it. It's fun doing ministry though.

    People

People have been fun lately. I got to hang out with a few of my Chinese girlfriends and we all enjoyed having a bad mood together. Andrew and I have been conquering SSX On Tour together, we made a chubby, scraggly, bald-guy character who snowboards in his underpants. I know that's a little weird, if not slightly homoerotic but it makes us laugh. The whole house and Beth's friend visiting from Toronto and Tim watched the movie enchanted last night, that's a great movie. But it's also kind of a litmus test to see how people respond to really well-written cheesy humor. Amy Adams destroys the role of the human Disney princess but it makes some people want to gag. I'm not one of them, I'd be happy to squish her, squeeze her head off, and dangle her from my rearview mirror, but you'd be surprised to find out who loved the movie and who thought it was a little over the top (you might suspect that the guys hated it and the girls loved it but…). Anyway it's real good times. Fun City Rules.

More homework, more work work, more blogging, more church. It is what it is.

Thanks for the mention, although it’s “WPhone”, not “WUpdate”. grin

We’re looking to release a new version very soon in coordination with the forthcoming WordPress 2.5 release, so keep an eye out for it.

Once again, thanks for the interest!
