I Need a Strategy

It occurs to me that tupperware™ containers are like socks, only in reverse. Where you slowly find over the course of your undergarment drawer's existence that socks are slowly dissappearing, the opposite is true in your tupperware™ bin.

In my lifetime I think I've purchased about 6 pieces of tupperware™ total. Each piece had its own lid, which correctly fit on top of said piece perfectly. There were a total of 12 pieces, 6 containers and 6 lids.

I now posess some 343-ish pieces of tupperware™; some are lids, some are containers. Of those 343-ish pieces I am able to combine the lids with the containers to produce exactly five solid tupperware™ containers.

How does this happen?

I have gobs of containers with no lids, and gobs of lids that don't fit a container. To make things worse, I now live with people who save all of the plastic containers they purchase from the store (like 8 oz. cream cheese containers).

I need a plan. I need a system – a tupperware™ matching system.

I have that exact same problem!

HAHAHAHA this is a funny entry. And, of course, what makes it funny is the truth behind it. I was given a set by one of my previous employers (US Bank) when I left the Auburn branch and moved to the Newport Beach branch. I still have that set today, 6 years later. I now have 3x what I started with. And get this, my wife didn’t have any when I married her so it all came from other sources. There is someone out there buying tupperware all the time.

Poor sap.

Step 1: Gather all tupperware bits from your car, room, office/cube and make roommates do same.
Step 2: Throw it all away or better yet find a good home for it.
Step 3: Buy SmartSpin at the Evil Empire, um, I mean Walmart for less than $20 US. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4634069
All the lids match all the containers and they have a small spinny home…bliss
