I hope they will mention Cowper in that movie – he fits in there comewhere, doesn’t he? 1996 was a LONG time ago, but I remember him being integral to the schpeel given by the museum volunteers (feel free to set me straight, Seminarians). I was privledged enough to visit Newton, Cowper and Bunyan’s home churches while in the UK. Very inspirational men of the faith. Hope the flick makes it to CenCal.

I love that he got rejected by the U.S. circuit court. First off, anybody who would do that is an a-hole and needs to be shot, er… hit. Second, I don’t care what you say about free speech baby, libel and slander are still illegal.

oh, and did you see that a dude who tried to patent the name barack bin laden was denied by the courts of florida just recently? it’s true.

i didn’t post it because, as you mentioned, i figured most people wouldn’t know who wilberforce was, although, as you also so astutely pointed out, he played a gigantic role in the abolition of slavery. they just had a pre-screening of the film here on campus, but i was unable to attend. i think it’s gonna be a genius film.

you may have “first-ed” me on this one, but you certainly didn’t post the story about the milli vanilli movie first … i get the credit for that one!

ps … do you still have your original post on gifted? if so, i’m well above 13 and would like to read it.
